Verken IT & Analytics ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website, enrol in our courses, register for webinars, or subscribe to our newsletter. We comply with the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and are registered with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.

• Contact information — your name and email address, submitted when you use our contact form, enrol in a course, register for a webinar, or subscribe to our newsletter.
• Payment information — processed securely by Payhip or Paystack depending on the course type. We do not store card numbers or payment credentials on our servers.
• Webinar and event registration data — name, email address, and any optional details you provide when registering for a live session or webinar.
• Course enrolment data — the course(s) you have purchased and your progress, stored on our learning platform.
• Usage and analytics data — anonymised data about how visitors interact with our website, collected via Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics 4. This includes pages visited, session duration, and approximate geographic location (country level). No personally identifiable information is shared with these analytics providers.
• Communications — messages you send us via the contact form or by email.

2. Legal Basis for Processing

Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), we process your personal data on the following lawful bases:

• Contract performance — to deliver courses and services you have purchased.
• Legitimate interest — to improve our services, respond to enquiries, and send relevant course updates.
• Consent — for marketing emails and newsletters, which you may withdraw at any time.
• Legal obligation — where we are required to retain data under Ghanaian law.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To process course enrolments and deliver access details
• To confirm webinar registrations and send joining instructions
• To respond to enquiries submitted via the contact form or email
• To send important updates about courses or services you have purchased
• To send our newsletter and promotional emails about courses, free resources, and events — only where you have opted in
• To improve our website and course content based on aggregated analytics data

4. Marketing Communications

We send newsletters and promotional emails only to people who have explicitly opted in — for example, by subscribing on our website or ticking the opt-in box during enrolment or webinar registration.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send, or by emailing us at info@verkenitandanalytics.com. Unsubscribing from marketing emails will not affect transactional emails related to courses you have purchased.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We share data only with the service providers necessary to operate our business:

• Payhip / Paystack — payment processing for course purchases
• Brevo — transactional and marketing email delivery
• Vercel — website hosting and Vercel Analytics
• Google Analytics — website traffic analysis (anonymised data only)

Each of these providers has their own privacy policy and handles your data in accordance with applicable law.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside Ghana. In particular, Vercel (United States), Payhip (United Kingdom), and Brevo (European Union) may process your data on servers located outside the Republic of Ghana. Where this occurs, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place consistent with the requirements of the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by Ghanaian law. Specifically:

• Course enrolment records — retained for the duration of your access to the course, and for up to 5 years thereafter for record-keeping purposes.
• Contact form submissions — retained for up to 2 years.
• Marketing email lists — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

8. Your Rights

Under the Ghana Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843), you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your personal data ("right to erasure")
• Object to processing of your data for marketing purposes
• Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent

9. Age Restriction

Our courses and services are intended for individuals aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

10. Cookies & Analytics

Our site uses cookies for basic functionality (such as remembering your session) and analytics. Specifically:

• Vercel Analytics — collects anonymised, aggregated data about page views and visitor behaviour. No personal identifiers are stored.
• Google Analytics 4 — collects anonymised data about how users interact with our site. IP addresses are anonymised. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or sell cookie data to third parties.
